BLACK SHARK is a cover band founded in 1998 by Juan Ramón Ruíz "Lapi", drummer of the legendary Madrid thrash metal group MURO, after his departure from it.

Due to differences with the other original members of the band, Lapi decided to leave it and surround himself with young and promising musicians with whom he could perform live covers of some of the most popular songs in the history of heavy metal, from groups like IRON MAIDEN, METALLICA, JUDAS PRIEST, HELLOWEEN or STRATOVARIUS among others, as well as the occasional song by MURO.

Lapi was joined by Luis Ligero “Luisito” (OKER) as bassist, and Jesús González “Chechu” (BEETHOVEN R, ARCASACRA) as guitarist, and it was the latter who contacted Alberto to offer him to be the vocalist for the project.

In March 2000, and with the collaboration of Luis Calzada (AVATAR, ÑU) on guitar, the group offered their first concert in a packed Caracol venue in Madrid, opening the show for BEETHOVEN R, a group in which Alberto would join as singer 10 years later, who that year presented his first studio album in the capital before his audience. The show was a real success and the band came out much stronger from that evening.

The following months the group continued preparing versions, and at the end of that same year they would perform a second live performance at the mythical Hebe venue in Vallecas, gathering a large number of audiences after the good reviews received at their debut concert.

Months later Alberto would leave the band for personal reasons, but he would return to it in 2010 to offer a new concert at the Ritmo & Compás venue in Madrid, before leaving it permanently to focus on ALGAR and BEETHOVEN R..

BLACK SHARK es una banda de covers fundada en 1998 por Juan Ramón Ruíz “Lapi”, batería del legendario grupo de trash metal madrileño MURO, tras su salida del mismo. 

Por diferencias con los otros miembros originales de la banda, Lapi decidió abandonarla y rodearse de jóvenes y prometedores músicos con los que interpretar en directo covers de algunas de las canciones más populares dentro de la historia del heavy-metal, de grupos como IRON MAIDEN, METALLICA, JUDAS PRIEST, HELLOWEEN o STRATOVARIUS entre otros, además de algún que otro tema de MURO.  

A Lapi se unieron Luis Ligero “Luisito” (OKER) como bajista, y Jesús González “Chechu” (BEETHOVEN R, ARCASACRA) como guitarrista, y fue éste último quien contactó con Alberto para ofrecerle ser el vocalista del proyecto. 

En marzo de 2000, y con la colaboración de Luis Calzada (AVATAR, ÑU) a la guitarra, el grupo ofreció su primer concierto en una abarrotada sala Caracol, en Madrid, abriendo el show para BEETHOVEN R, grupo en el que ingresaría Alberto como cantante 10 años más tarde, que ese año presentaba su primer disco de estudio en la capital ante su público. El show fue un auténtico éxito y la banda salió muy reforzada de aquella velada. 

Los meses siguientes el grupo continuó preparando versiones, y a finales de ese mismo año realizarían un segundo directo en la mítica sala Hebe de Vallecas, reuniendo un gran número de público tras las buenas críticas recibidas en su concierto debut. 

Meses más tarde Alberto dejaría la banda por motivos personales, pero volvería a la misma en 2010 para ofrecer un nuevo concierto en la sala Ritmo & Compás de Madrid, antes de abandonarla definitivamente para centrarse en ALGAR y BEETHOVEN R.
